There are 10 basic principles of good design; CONTRAST, EMPHASIS, PROXIMITY/ ALIGNMENT, BALANCE, HIERARCHY, SCALE, HARMONY/UNITY, PATTERN, REPETITION, & RHYTHM/MOVEMENT. For this week’s journal #16, google examples of PATTERN as a principle of design, and upload a picture of an example of PATTERN to your Journal #16 describing how it is used as a principle of good design.

Pattern is a good principal of design if you want to show a little bit of repetition but not completely. Patten and repetition kind of correlate. I personally like pattern just because it gives your art an organized look. With pattern there is no central or focus point. Without a focal point the the brain wants to look for one so pattern will help the viewer see your whole design.
