There are 10 basic principles of good design; CONTRAST, EMPHASIS, PROXIMITY/ALIGNMENT, BALANCE, HIERARCHY, SCALE, HARMONY/UNITY, PATTERN, REPETITION, & RHYTHM/MOVEMENT. For this week’s journal #11, google examples of PROXIMITY/ALIGNMENT as a principle of design, and upload a picture of an example of PROXIMITY/ALIGNMENT to your Journal #11 describing how it is used as a principle of good design. Refer to the PowerPoint slideshow I created below, for reference but ALWAYS write in your own words!!

Proximity is used to guide the viewer through the design. It is useful in design because it helps show the viewer through your whole design instead of one main interest. Alignment is used to make your design clear and straight to the point. It helps with organization and doesn't make the viewer confused. Proximity and alignment help mostly with organization. If you are going for clean and organized i suggest proximity and alignment.
