There are 10 basic principles of good design; CONTRAST, EMPHASIS, PROXIMITY/ALIGNMENT, BALANCE, HIERARCHY, SCALE, HARMONY/UNITY, PATTERN, REPETITION, & RHYTHM/MOVEMENT. For this week’s journal #9, google examples of CONTRAST as a principle of design, and upload a picture of an example of good contrast to your Journal #9 describing how contrast is used as a principle of good design. Refer to the PowerPoint slideshow I created below, for reference but ALWAYS write in your own words!!

Contact is used as a good principle of design in that you are naturally attracted to the object that is different. As shown in the photo, the raspberry is brightly colored compared to the rest of the photo so you are drawn to it. This is useful in design because if you want the viewer to focus on something in particular you can use contrast to draw them to it.
